You would guess heavy-duty glue? Nope. It is brick clips — they wedge right into the mortar. I have got 20 meters of 20m fairy lights for wall on my backyard brick wall. They have been through three downpours and have not moved an inch. If you are using them outdoors, get stainless steel ones. The plastic ones get brittle after six months of sun.
